Safe Opening - founder and company Director Dave Hardy (Small)

David has been working in the Safe & Vault industry for over twenty years covering all aspects of Safe & Vault work including general locksmith duties.

Dave’s time served was under the wing of Malcolm Yeadon, an extremely experienced and talented Safe Engineer, who served his time with John Tann Safe Company. Dave’s time served under Malcolm gave him the foundation to his future within the industry.

While working under Malcolm Dave’s day to day duties included all aspects of the Safe & Vault engineering, also general locksmith duties from remedial to the more sophisticated Safe opening for a large number of financial institutions.

At the start of 2000 Dave made the decision to set up as a sole trader under the trading name D.H.Locking Logistics. With a tremendous amount of hard work this proved to be a very successful venture. Dave worked for a large number of the financial institutions and retail outlets on a subcontract basis covering all aspects of Safe & Vault engineering. This included the installation of anti hold up equipment and time locks etc – also ATM engineering to include general locksmith work.

With the introduction of electronic locking systems for safes, vaults and ATMs Dave was commissioned to undertake a programme of works for a major high street bank making key locks and combination locks redundant installing various types of electronic locking systems on strongroom doors, cash safes, night safes and ATMs. Dave’s involvement and understanding of the ATM industry grew from strength to strength, with the commitment and quality of work that D.H.Locking provided to the industry the initial opportunity arose to provide Euronet with national coverage, this also proved very successful.
